Salt & Pepper Calamari Chunks 360g


Natural, raw, tender pieces of calamari (also known as squid) are scored to give a unique texture and appearance. Coated in a tasty authentic salt and pepper coating they are then individually frozen. This product is par-fried ready to be finished either in a conventional oven or deep-fried. Preparation instructions

Product must be cooked from frozen. Do not thaw. Ensure product is cooked through and piping hot in centre before serving.

Cooking guide

Oven baked:

Preheat oven to 220°C (220°C fan forced). Place frozen squid on a baking tray and cook for 22 – 24 minutes or until golden brown, turning over halfway through cooking.

Pan fry:

Preheat lightly oiled frypan to medium temperature. Place frozen squid in frypan and cook for 8 – 10 minutes. Turn occasionally. Drain well before serving.

Deep fry:

Preheat oil to 180°C. Deep fry frozen squid for 3 – 4 minutes or until golden brown. Drain well before serving.

Appliances vary considerably. Please adjust cooking times if necessary.
